What I help with

Three things, done properly.

The parts of a medicine application that actually decide the outcome — taught the way I wish I'd been taught.

01

Personal statement

From a blank page to a statement that genuinely sounds like your child. We start with the story, not the structure — and keep drafting, honestly, until it's ready.

02

Interview preparation

MMI stations, panel interviews, ethics, the awkward ones. We rehearse under realistic pressure until your child stops sounding rehearsed.

03

UCAS & UCAT strategy

Picking the right four schools, matching each one to the right test, planning the year. Mostly it's about not wasting choices — where most applicants quietly lose ground.

How we'll work together

Simple, and built around your year.

No fragmented hand-offs between tutors — it's just me, from the first chat to the final mock.

1

A free chat

Twenty minutes to work out where your child is, what's coming up, and what's genuinely realistic this cycle.

2

The work

Focused 1:1 sessions on the statement, interview or UCAT — with honest feedback and support between them.

3

Mock & refine

We rehearse under real conditions and keep sharpening until it stops sounding rehearsed and starts sounding like them.

Crash courses & packages

Built for the moments that matter most.

One all-in-one bundle for the whole journey, focused 1:1 packages for a single hurdle, or group sessions if you'd rather learn with others — whatever fits your child and your budget.

Booking now for 2026 entry. It's just me, so I take on a limited number of 1:1 students each cycle — once the spaces are gone, they're gone until next year.

A bit about me

I teach the way I wish I'd been taught.

Not long ago I was the one staring at a blank personal statement, wondering how anyone turns themselves into a convincing applicant. I worked it out — and helping other students do the same is genuinely the part of my week I look forward to most.

My approach is simple: understand a topic deeply before you test it with past papers. Papers show me what's missing; they're never how we build the knowledge in the first place.

And because I've just been through the whole application myself, I teach it from experience rather than a script — the same prep that earned my offers, sharpened over years of doing it alongside other families.

Questions

Good to know.

Are sessions online or in person?
All online, over video — evenings and weekends to fit around school. It keeps things flexible and means distance is never an issue.
When's the best time to start?
Year 12 is ideal — there's room to build the statement and UCAT properly. But plenty of students start in Year 13, and we just focus on what moves the needle fastest.
What if my child's UCAT score is low?
It's not the end of the road. A big part of strategy is choosing the four schools where the rest of the application carries the most weight — we plan around the score, not just for it.
Do you only help with medicine?
Medicine is my focus — it's the path I've just been through myself. That said, the statement, interview and academic tutoring carry over to closely related courses, so just ask on the call.
